Internal VP

Prachi Sahoo

External VP
Timothy Chen

Hello, I am Prachi. I am from Dubai, UAE. I graduated with a B.S in ME from GT in 2018 before starting my PhD focused on Safe Intermittent Reinforcement Learning with Dr. Kyriakos Vamvoudakis. In my free time I enjoy doing Pilates, running, cooking healthy versions of guilty meals, wine tastings, and drinking an obscene amount of craft coffee. Two truths and a lie:

1. I can make sourdough bread from scratch and feed my starter “yeast pet” regularly to keep it alive.

2. I do not know how to drive and will probably never learn because I envision myself becoming a New Yorker someday so why bother?

3. I have never been to a Christmas party.

Answer in person in our next MEGA event, and hopefully we will become friends!

Timothy Chen graduated from North Carolina State University in May 2019 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He is a third year Ph.D. student investigating high-capacity materials for lithium-ion batteries. In his free time, Timothy enjoys ice skating, volunteering, and hiking with friends.

Tiffany Tsui is a Medical Physics doctoral student in Dr. Niu’s research group. She graduated from University of Tennessee with a B.S. major in Nuclear Engineering and minor in Chemistry. Tiffany enjoys traveling, boxing, swimming, and spending quality time with her Maltipoo fur child. Connor Armstrong is a Ph.D. student in professor Jerry Qi’s group focusing on additive manufacturing of smart materials as well as bioinspired autonomously shape changing structures. It is his goal to bring together the MEGA community through a number of social events big and small.

VP of Recruitment
Gian Rivera Crespo
Maria Sattar is first year Fulbright Ph.D. Mechanical Engineering student at Georgia Tech. Currently, working on Thermoelectric generators to address the energy challenges. She graduated as an Energy Systems Engineer from US-Pakistan Centre for Advanced Studies in Energy, National University of Sciences and Technology, Pakistan. Maria admires the nature, love to walk and play bowling ball. She is a curious reader and writer. Gian C. Rivera Crespo graduated from the University of Puerto Rico in May 2019 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, and from Georgia Tech in 2021 with an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He is a third year doctoral student in David Ku’s Thrombosis and Medical Device research group studying the fluid mechanics of hemorrhagic injuries, and the mechanisms through which they stop bleeding. Gian enjoys cheese, looking at maps, and 80’s dark wave.
